Why Laser?

Waterlase Dentistry has many advantages over conventional dental instruments, and methods.

Your Comfort

Heat, vibration and pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the use of the traditional drill. Since the Waterlase laser cuts hard and soft tissue without heat, vibration or pressure, the whole proceedure is able to be performed with fewer, if any, shots or anesthesia. Plus, using the Waterlase laser reduces bleeding, post-operative pain and swelling, and the need for pain medication in many cases.

Accuracy and Precision

Through the Waterlase equipment in my Surgery, I can remove decay in tooth enamel - The hardest substance in the human body!. - While leaving the surrounding tooth unaffected

Reduced Trauma

High-speed drills can cause hairline fractures in teeth that can eventually lead to future dental problems. The Gentle action of the Waterlase laser reduces damage to healthy portions of the tooth, minimizing trauma.

Improved Cavity Fillings

Waterlase cavity preparations increase bond strength of tooth-coloured restorations, for longer lasting fillingsFewer Dental Visits

Since you may not need shots or anesthesia, cavity preparations in several areas of your mouth can be performed, rather than having you come back for regular visits. In addition, proceedures that would otherwise need specialist referal can now be performed by me with the Waterlase system.

Less Bleeding and Swelling

Due to its gentle cutting action and coagulating capibilities the Waterlase laser performs many proceedures on gums and other soft tissues with little of no bleeding and less post-operative swelling.
